Viral video of Worlds Reaction to Donovans goal

News Story about the video that was made just 2 days ago

QUOTE

IRENE, South Africa – College student Robby Donoho watched Landon Donovan’s golden goal on Wednesday and decided it merited an instant tribute. Little did he know, within hours it would wind up bringing the United States soccer hero, flicking through the Internet half a world away, to tears.

Donoho, a 21-year-old Purdue University senior and avid fan of the men’s national team, collected a montage of clips of USA fans celebrating Donovan’s injury-time winner against Algeria and assembled them into a catchy package, which he put on YouTube.

Within hours, the video had gone viral, and as the American players headed to bed on Friday night ahead of their round-of-16 match against Ghana in Rustenburg, more than 350,000 viewers had tuned in.

It didn’t take long for the images to be passed through to the USA’s training camp near Pretoria and onto the laptop of Donovan himself. For all of the praise and plaudits the goal-scoring star received after his moment of glory, it was seeing the reaction sparked by his calm strike into the bottom corner of the Algerian net that touched him the most.

“Not sure if you guys saw this but it brings tears to my eyes every time,” Donovan wrote on his Facebook account, while linking to Donoho’s video. “Thank you all so much … we can do it.”

Hal Gil with countless blocked shots, so many players stepping it up and playing as a team unlike the Caps.

Ovechkin needs some more moves, he can not keep streaking down the left skating blue line to blue line every play. Here, you input your zip code and choose your cable provider and it will tell you every sporting event on your TV for the next 2 weeks, and their current scores if they're on currently. And if you want to actually sign up on the site, you can set it up so the site will send you a text or email alert if there's a something big going down in a game(i.e. a close game: Top of the 9th Yankees-Red Sox tied, an upset: Butler leads K-State with 2 minutes to go, or just something ridiculous in general: Top of the 18th Yankees-Red Sox tied). You can also choose by severity, so if you want to know about a possible upset in the making at half time, you can get that or you can only get alerts for games that are in triple OT and are going to be "game of the year".

I'll keep it short:
After a couple months of contemplation and following the offseason moves of most teams in the NFL. I'm starting to believe most owners are preparing for some kind of lockout next year. Guys like Jerry Jones and Jerry Richardson who played big roles in last CBA haven't done anything yet this offseason. Part of it is because teams like Dallas would have to loose a player in the same skill range or similar draft tender to be able to pickup up a decent free agent. If Carolina wanted to pickup for instance T.O., eventhough he isn't restricted to Buffalo the team picking him up would mostlikely have to give up a 3rd or 4th round pick tender.
I know for a fact because of the 30% rule (a player can only make a maximum of 30% more in base salary if they were to resign contract) it has kept guys like D.Williams, R.Kalil, and J. Beason from new contract talks with the panthers. Kalil's agent came out and said he has no doubt in his mind that Kalil would be already resigned if they were still following the old CBA.
How can teams get around this? They can get around it by inserting massive signing bonuses. With that said, seeing a lack of big name players who are in need of new contracts that will mostlikely not have a problem producing in the long term such as Beason and Willis. This leads me to believe some owners are preparing for a possible lockout or prolonged lockout.

This is all just speculation with any real insider info so I'm mostlikely wrong and I hope I'm wrong but to me there are some signs that uncertainty amongst owners is pointing towards a lockout.

Do you guys feel there is a strong chance of a lockout aswell?

Admiral Ackbar to Ole Miss?

Ole Miss looking for new mascot to replace Colonial Reb and Star Wars character Admiral Ackbar could be it?

QUOTE

This past weekend, we reported that a campaign was underway at Ole Miss to make Admiral Ackbar the university’s new mascot. As geeked out as we were by the possibility of the beloved, squidlike Star Wars Rebel Alliance Commander of “It’s a trap!” fame leading a different set of Rebels on the playing field, we were skeptical that students would want to oust their current plantation-owning semi-mascot, Colonel Reb.

Well, color us happily surprised: an early report from TMZ on yesterday’s voting says that Ackbar is currently the “favorite” among the student body.TMZ:

Tuesday, the students voted in favor of crowning a new mascot to represent Rebel Nation … and the favorite so far is none other than the most famous Mon Calamari in the entire universe.

Several pro-Ackbar websites have recently emerged — making the Admiral the heavy favorite. The University tells us the decision on the mascot is entirely in the hands of the student mascot committee. The University will hold a vote in the near future — we’ll keep you updated.

As Gamma Squad points out, even a unanimous student body vote for Ackbar might run into complications: namely, George Lucas‘ protective guarding of his every creation. See: the Motorola Droid, whose creators had to pay Lucas for the rights to use the word “droid” — it’s unlikely that Ole Miss will cough up that sort of coin. But in this case, we’re hoping against hope that this campaign can upset the imperial fleet and secure Endor, or at least a bunch of tailgates.

It's not a trap! this time...

With the season wrapping up here soon was wondering what everyones playoff predictions are?

Personally Im guessing short of a miracle my Panthers shall be finished off within the next 2 weeks so I'm starting to look at the other teams

Im thinking the Vikings, Saints, Bengals, Titians (no im not crazy ), Chargers, and possibly the Cowboys have the best shots at winning it all.

Im also thinking the Patriots, Colts, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, and Packers will be one and done teams in the playoffs (if they make playoffs)

I also think Saints have a solid chance of finishing undefeated and Colts may do it aswell but with not nearly as strong of a team. The only thing that might hurt the Saints superbowl run is they may be forced to play out their season for home field advantage because the Vikings are only 1 game back (which is good for fantasy football owners whom have players from both the Saints and the Vikings)

At the begining of the season I had picked Cincy as a supprise team to make it to the playoffs and they haven't seemingly let me down yet. If the Bengals finish out the season without a crazy losing streak I can see the Bengals gonig to the AFC championship game.

Lets make some 1 liner predictions for fun, see who can get the most right out of 10-12 or so predictions
_________________________________
*Colts will bomb
*Bengals will soar
*Titans will stay hot
*Cards barely make the playoffs
*Pukesburgh falls flat on face
*Aaron Rodgers somehow gets screwed out of a Pro Bowl vote mostlikely cause the blind stupidity of NYG and NFC east fans
*Vince Young makes a case for himself to become MVP (tough seeing as how Chris Johnson is a stronger candidate)
*Matt Moore finishes season as panthers starter and goes 3-1
*Mark "Sanchize" turns into Ryan Leaf or Joey Harrington and shows all he really is, is a career backup
*I was wrong about Stafford so far, the guy has balls and heart
*Brain Cushing defensive ROY
*Percy Harvin or Stafford for offensive ROY
*
